This song began its life during Paul and Karen’s ‘Music in Hospitals and Care’ tour of Guernsey. It started out as a simple love song but it became a song about the people who carry us when the waters get rough, and who somehow always seem to know the way home.
Make it your own.

Lyrics
Like the Sea, like the Sea
You're the tide that carries me
Carries me through the storm
Ever guiding me home
Like the sea, like the Sea
So much braver than me
Never facing my fears all alone.
Don't look at me now as I'm brushing a tear
You always would catch me when I wasn't prepared
There are days when I wonder what got me this far
But you always taught me just be who you are
And don't take your eye from the stars
Like the Sea, like the Sea
You're the tide that carries me
Carries me through the storm
Ever guiding me home
Like the sea, like the Sea
So much braver than me
Never facing my fears all alone.
Here on the shoreline your words I unfold
I wade in the wisdom that maps out my road
I give thanks for the strength that I feel in my heart
Together we're mighty whilst forever apart
On my journey, you'll never be far
But what if the water should get too deep
If my feet start to sink through the sand and the scree
Who'll be my lifeguard, will I need to call
Or will you come save me like always before
Like the Sea, like the Sea
You're the tide that carries me
Carries me through the storm
Ever guiding me home
Like the sea, like the Sea
So much braver than me
Never facing my fears all alone.
